Our crib is the slats on all 4 side type. We could also just not use that outlet, but that isn’t ideal as we don’t want the monitor on the other side of the room. I suppose we could use the other wall for the crib, but it’s closer to the window and it gets cold here, so we are worried about temperature (maybe over concerned?). We want to be able to plug in the baby monitor (camera) on that side, but the concern is our daughter being able to grab the power cord. We have a slat back crib and in our new home, the wall that is ideal for the crib has the power outlet right behind where we wanted the crib.
